This club was established in 1967 as a 9-hole course, with the opening officiated by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. It became an 18-hole course in 1977, before being fully refurbed – clubhouse and course alike – between 2010 and 2013. The Singapore Island Country Club
The Singapore Island Country Club story – also the dawn of golf in Singapore – began on 17 June 1891. A special match was arranged to celebrate the birth of The Golf Club, graced by the presence of Governor Sir Cecil Clementi-Smith and his wife. Sir John Tankerville Goldney, the man responsible for forming the club, had the privilege of driving off the first ball in the opening game. The Golf Club had the unique opportunity of witnessing the first tee off, and from here on, golf in Singapore had finally taken off.

Warren Golf & Country Club
Warren Golf & Country Club (formerly known as Warren Golf Club) was founded by the late Brigadier Derek Warren of the British 18th Signal Regiment. The Club started with a 4-hole golf course and quickly expanded to feature a 9-hole golf course together with a driving range when it officially opened at Folkestone Road in 1962. Over the years, the Club progressed and it now has an 18-hole championship golf course as well as an extensive range of social and recreational facilities. Handball was first introduced to Singapore in the 1980s, however the sport was not well recognised and popular hence it died down. Until 2008 when Singapore started preparing for the Youth Olympic Games, handball reappeared in the sports scene and has since continuously gained popularity till today.

Singapore Canoe Federation
The SCF is also a proven organizer of high-profile international races. Most recently in 2011, the SCF planned, coordinated and successfully organized the World Canoe Marathon which brought many elite marathon paddlers to Marina Reservoir. The SCF also assisted in the organizing of the 2010 Canoe/Kayak Sprint and Slalom events held during the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

Singapore Cricket Association
Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) constituted as a society on 4th November 1965 is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Singapore. SCA is Singapore’s representative as an associate member of the International Cricket Council since 1974 and also a member of the Asian Cricket Council.

Singapore Cycling Federation
The Singapore Cycling Federation (SCF) is the national federation for cycling recognized by the world body Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and its affiliated Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC). In 2005, Singapore became the first country in the world to host both a continental championship (2005 IDSF Asian Pacific Championships) and a Grand Slam Finals (2005 IDSF Grand Slam Finals). Singapore Gymnastics
Singapore Gymnastics (SG) was registered with the Registry of Societies (ROS) on 24 July 2003 and gazetted on 15 August 2003 as the National Sports Association (NSA) for gymnastics. SG is also affiliated to Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) since December 2003.

Singapore Snowboarding and Skiing Association
The Singapore Ski and Snowboard Association (SSSA) attained provisional National Sporting Association status in September 2011. SSSA became a provisional member as an affiliate of the Singapore National Olympic Committee in January 2013. We received provisional membership to the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) at the last council meeting in June 2013.
SSSA 2018 is an overall strategic plan to increase the general awareness of the sports of Skiing & Snowboarding in Singapore and to lay the foundation for Singapore’s participation in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. The Winter Games are to be held in Seoul, South Korea. Singapore’s representation would be a significant achievement as it would be our country’s first-ever representation at a Winter Olympic Games.

Singapore Xiangqi General Association
In international competitions, teams are sent every year to participate in Asian tournaments and various international invitational tournaments. Every two years, teams are sent to the World Cup. We also hold a Singapore-Malaysia exchange competition with Malaysia every two years.
In addition to tournaments, overseas or local chess masters are also invited to host chess lectures or hold training courses. In recent years, the Association has attached importance to the promotion of youth chess activities and the training of rookies. The Ceylon Sports Club has set a new record for Singapore with 72 hours of non—stop cricket tournament matches. The tournament started at 8pm on September 9 and ended at 8pm September 12.
