COMPETITIVE

OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Championship

The OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Championship is a thrilling ride – a first in Singapore and possibly in the world – since OCBC Cycle 2015. Only Singapore cycling clubs can apply.

As this is a highly technical and fast race, for the safety of all riders, the clubs are to ensure that cyclists who are chosen to race possess the ability and skills required to compete proficiently.

The 4 cyclists in each team will ride a total of 10 laps in pairs around a flat 1-kilometre course along Stadium Drive. Two cyclists will first ride 5 laps before passing their wristbands to the other 2 cyclists to ride the remaining 5 laps. There will be 3 rounds of races – the Qualifying round, the Semi-Finals and the Finals. In the Qualifying round, the top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the Semi-Finals, making a total of 6 teams. We will select, from the remaining teams across the groups, 2 teams with the best timings to also move on to the Semi-Finals to compete. There will therefore be a total of 8 teams racing in the Semi-Finals. The 8 teams will be split into 2 groups – the top 2 teams in each group will proceed to the Finals. Similarly, a team with the best timing among the remaining teams in both groups will move on to race in the Finals. 5 teams will be competing to be crowned the OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Champion for the year.

OCBC Cycle Corporate Chase

An exciting category for companies, the OCBC Cycle Corporate Chase is a great team bonding event! Companies can sign up with a team of 4 employees to race against other corporate teams in the first starting wave of The Sportive Ride. Flagging off ahead of the rest of the public field at The Sportive Ride, the clear road ahead allows the competitive corporate riders to test their cycling mantle on the tarmac.

Accepting a total of 30 corporate teams, each company is able to send up to two participating teams in the OCBC Cycle Corporate Chase. Subsequent teams are placed on the waiting list and entry for waiting teams will be dependent on availability. The corporate teams are ranked according to their combined total net time over the course of 42 km in The Sportive Ride.
