The National Piano & Violin Competition, Singapore’s oldest and most prestigious music competition, returns for its 12th edition!

This biennial competition celebrates music excellence and is a unique platform to develop the performing skills of our young musicians, improve music standards and identify potential music talents.

Saturday, 30 November – 8 December 2019 | 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Victoria Concert Hall | $10

For both violin and piano there are four competition categories: Junior (11 years and below), Intermediate (15 years and below), Senior (21 years and below) and Artist (25 years and below). The top three winners in each category will receive trophies, certificates and cash prizes of up to $5,000.

The competition has launched the careers of musicians like the brilliant young violinist Chloe Chua (1st Prize Winner, Junior Category, 2017) and pianist Tay Wan Ni Nicole who is now a Yamaha Artist (1st Prize Winner, Intermediate Category, 2017), along with her fellow 2017 Piano Prize Winner, Serene Koh (2nd Prize Winner, Artist Category, 2017).

The 2019 edition will take place from 30 November to 8 December 2019 at the Victoria Concert Hall and Esplanade Recital Studio.
