Singapore Philatelic Museum is the custodian and curator of Singapore’s treasure of philatelic materials.
The museum collections range from stamps and archival philatelic material of Singapore from the 1830s to present day, and stamps from member countries of the Universal Postal Union.
The permanent galleries introduce the world of philately, the world’s first stamp, and how stamps are a window to the world – to explore different topics such as science, technology, history and culture. Throughout the year, the museum holds special exhibitions on current topics. Educational activities are organised for schools and members of the public to discover the heritage of Singapore and other countries through philately.
You’ve Got Mail – Art on Envelope: Send Your Love The Write Way – (Until March 17)
You’ve Got Mail! is a two-part exhibition that celebrates the timeless art of writing and sending letters!
In Art on Envelope: Send Your Love The Write Way exhibition, 200 award-winning, beautifully handcrafted envelopes from the Washington Calligraphers Guild’s annual Graceful Envelopes Contests (with entries from between 2002 and 2016), will illustrate the beauty of letters and stamps.
You’ve Got Mail – Seeing Is Believing! Unusual Stamps – (Until March 17)
You’ve Got Mail! is a two-part exhibition that celebrates the timeless art of writing and sending letters!
Seeing Is Believing! Unusual Stamps illustrates how innovative stamp design and printing technology have transformed the humble postage stamp to one that engages all our senses. See the world’s first beaded stamp from Singapore, Spain’s unique 3D Star Wars stamps among many others.
The Little Prince: Behind the Story – (Until March 17)
Based on the book The Little Prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the exhibition celebrates the 75th anniversary of the publication in 2018. Discover how the well-loved story came about and the unusual man behind its creation. Meet unforgettable characters from The Little Prince and experience its iconic moments. On display are stamps and philatelic materials, personal belongings, illustrations, books, as well as sculptures by Arnaud Nazare-Aga.
The Little Prince In The Dark Collection will be closed on selected days for programmes. Please check the website before you visit or call the museum at +65 6337 3888.
Heritage Room – (Permanent)
Trace the story of different migrant races who came to Singapore in the 19th century. Find out about early traditional trades, different cultural festivals, traditional costumes and musical instruments.

Room of Rarities – (Permanent)
The gems of Singapore philately are displayed at the Room of Rarities. These include stamps and archival philatelic material from 1800s till today, and artefacts relating to Singapore’s postal history. Star pieces include the only known cover in the world, to bear a full set of 1854 Indian stamps that were used in the Straits Settlements.
