Come December, the inaugural Nordic-Asia Christmas Festival will make its landfall in Singapore!
Coupled with AR and VR showcase from Finland, consumers will be presented with artisanal and bespoke products flown in exclusively from Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Estonia.
The Inaugural Nordic-Asia Christmas Festival will be held at Millenia Walk’s Main Atrium from 3rd to 9th December from 11:00am to 9:00pm daily.
The Festival brings together a group of hand-picked artists, producers, farmers, and designers committed to high quality craftsmanship. Designed as a platform to showcase and celebrate the uncommon, the Festival puts the spotlight on the vibrant but little-known food and lifestyle scene in Finland and Estonia; and infused it with a selection
of artisanal brands from Asia.
The Embassy of Sweden will have a booth at the festival together with Fika Swedish Cafe & Bistro that is established here in Singapore. Come to our booth to try out Swedish cinnamon buns, glögg (Swedish version of mulled wine), julmust (Swedish christmas coke) and much more!

Helsinki: The Virtual Capital of the World
Besides the sale of merchandise, visitors will be treated to an exclusive,
multisensory virtual reality showcase of Helsinki: The Virtual Capital of the
World. Launched in partnership with top Finnish virtual reality studio Zoan
and the Embassy of Finland, this special preview will concurrently be shown in
Helsinki and Singapore from 3rd Dec 2018. It explores the fascinating concept
of Virtual Tourism and its multifaceted influence on the future of retail and
travel. Singapore is the only country outside of Finland to witness this
“Imagine being transported across space and time to a global city, and having
the freedom to walk its streets, feel its pulse, interact with its sights and
sounds, and shop at its most iconic brands; all while sitting miles away in the
comfort of your home and with a degree of realism that mirrors the actual
environment. Then imagine what this technological possibility will do to trade,
business, and cultural interactions. It is immense and imposing. The reality is
closer than we think and Finland is leading the way in realising this vision,”
said Mr Neo Beng Tong, CEO of The Next Twenty Group and the architect
behind the Nordic-Asia Christmas Festival.
Spreading the Joy of Christmas: The Finnair Cube and Finnish Santa Claus
In collaboration with Finnair and in a first for Singapore, the Nordic-Asia
Christmas Festival will welcome the exclusive appearance of a Finnish Santa
Claus specially flown in from Finland on 7th and 8th December 2018. The
Festival will also be the only venue in Singapore to host the Finnair Cube - a
multimedia display of music and lighting inspired by the magical elements of
Christmas and the Northern Lights. The Cube doubles up as a built-in video
recording booth for visitors to leave their festive greetings and well-wishes. If
visitors feel up to the challenge, they can answer the question “What Would
You Give Away to Get Away?” and stand to win a pair of tickets to the Nordics.
With the rare appearance of a Finnish Santa Claus, the Festival is proud to
partner AWWA to spread the joy of Christmas to the less privileged among us.
Activities are planned for our children to meet and interact with our Finnish
Santa; listen to a story of inclusive Christmas values; decorate their own
gingerbread; and take home a special goodie bag with a Finnair reindeer soft
Catch Santa Claus:
Friday, 7 December: 1 - 9pm
Saturday, 8 December: 3 - 7pm
Singapore’s First Nordic-Asia Culinary Ambassador
With food and lifestyle as the focus and a view to anchoring the long-term
collaboration between the Nordics and Asia, The Next Twenty Group is proud
to announce the appointment of prominent Singaporean Chef Eric Neo as the
first Nordic-Asia Culinary Ambassador. Chef Neo, a widely-respected leader in
the Singapore culinary scene, is Executive Chef of InterContinental Singapore
and Vice President of the Singapore Chefs Association. Chef Neo will take a
leadership role in the promotion of creative collaborations between the food
and culinary institutions of our regions.
“The Nordic region is known for its clean and pristine natural environment.
Yet, within the food and culinary scene in Singapore, we have seen relatively
little products from the likes of Finland, Iceland, and Estonia. I strongly believe
that more can be done to promote closer interactions between our countries. I
am honoured to be appointed as the first Nordic-Asia Culinary Ambassador
and look forward to contributing actively.” said Chef Eric Neo.
The inaugural Nordic-Asia Christmas Festival is organised by The Next Twenty
Group and its food and lifestyle subsidiary Nordic Nature Singapore, in close
collaboration with the Embassy of Finland, Enterprise Estonia, Pontiac Land
Group, and Millenia Walk. Supporting partners include the Embassy of
Sweden, Finnair, Zoan, Rakka Creative, HiverLab, and WAAVE.
