CEX Slam is a bilateral poetry slam between Singapore and Malaysia, where each country sends a contingent of 5 poets to go up against each other to find out who gets to take home the poetic bragging rights for the year. Like a friendly football match, it is not about the points and neither is it necessarily about the poetry - it is about the exchange.
CEX Slam 2018/19 is the second edition of CEX Slam. Revived and rebranded in 2016, each edition of CEX Slam is a two-legged tie - each leg hosted by each country as they alternately host the CEX Festival every year. CEX Slam 2018 is the first leg of the 2018/19 edition, and this year Malaysia will be visiting Singapore at The Arts House at the Old Parliament.
The 2016/17 edition saw Malaysia winning it overall, losing out to Singapore only in the group title in 2017. Will we see Singapore claiming their first win, or will Malaysia take it home? Join us to celebrate this CausewayEXchange and cheer for all of us.
Contingents will be announced in due course.
