Started as a B-Boy, Shane 2Sweet (2Sweet for short) has travelled around the world to learn about different cultures and further himself in the art of Breaking. Through his travels, he discovered that music plays such an important role in the dance and culture of Hip Hop, and how each place has its own unique musical influence that differentiates their interpretation of the culture. Progressing to be a DJ, 2Sweet now focuses on collecting local Malaysian/Singaporean and South East Asian Funk/Soul, Breaks and Jazz to establish a stronger love for local roots that have been forgotten or not brought to light through the culture of Hip Hop.
Shane 2Sweet is a part of many movements including DJ collective Matteblacc, who prides themselves in championing good quality sounds through Hip-hop, BlackPlaytez (co-founder), a Malaysian-based Break DJ crew, dedicated to harnessing the power of local music in Hip-hop and dance, as well as international music collective LeftMind (co-founder), who strives on nothing short of good vibes and freedom of expression. Carrying these weights under his belt, 2Sweet has spun on some of the rawest grounds, from local clubs to the grittiest bars and the funkiest dance battles/jams around the South East Asian and Asian region.
