Join Cultural Medallion recipient Louis Soliano and his friends for an evening full of merry tunes and soulful renditions of Christmas classics as they spread some festive cheer to friends and loved ones.
Alongside Karen de Silva (violin), Yonglun Liu (guitar), and Amanda Lee (piano), the veteran musician presents songs such as The Christmas Song, My Grown Up Christmas Wish and Sleigh Ride, featuring the stunning vocals of Rebecca Alwani on 24 Dec and Lily Hargrove on 25 Dec. Come join them for a musical celebration of this most wonderful time of the year!
About Louis Soliano
Louis Soliano is an institution of Singapore music, having played in every major music establishment here and beyond. His musical journey reads like a history of the music scene in Singapore and the region. Coming from a famed family of musicians, he embarked on a music career in the ‘60s that saw him working with jazz greats such as Matt Monro, Anita O’Day and Sarah Vaughan, as well as stars of the region including Lea Salonga, Roman Tam, Frances Yip and S.K. Poon. In 2014, Soliano received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Singapore International Jazz Festival. Louis has performed at the Java Jazz Festival, JakJazz, WOMAD Festival, Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Festival, Jazz in July and many others. In 2018, he was awarded one of Singapore’s highest accolades in the arts, the Cultural Medallion.
