The Red Lion
The Red Lion is a neighbourhood British bar catering to – and, from what we hear, welcomed by – the Balmoral/Bukit Timah Road community, built from scratch by 4 long-term resident Brits (3 married to Singaporeans) who saw the opportunity to introduce this cozy, smart and clean venue 400m from Newton MRT (Downtown Line Exit C). Beautifully fitted out in chestnut facade, the bar has various ‘pod’ areas such as its inside/outside window bar with stools either side and, to give it local flavour, its 70 year old feature Peranakan Banquette Chair. We are also happy that we are the local area’s TV sport viewing venue on weekends.
