Update from Pure Wild New Zealand Seafood
After 9 years of research and development, our gear is finally being empirically tested by our national scientific research body National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research or NIWA.
We are doing controlled testing between using a standard minimum legal sized net and cod end. The cod end is where the fish are collected before coming aboard the boat. This is contrasted against the cage to see if it let’s go the little and non-selected fish in a 1 hour test tow. We need to repeat this many times and from different directions to fully test how it works across various variables.
Derek is on board from NIWA to provide the verified science for the testing program. Of course we here at Better Fishing already know the story but the world needs verified results: this is that process occuring realtime.
