The Testament

The film begins with Ari’s friend telling him about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs.
Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there’s a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties. Ari is surprised that he can’t remember a thing about that period of his life. To solve this mystery, he decides to meet and interview old friends and comrades around the world. He needs to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As Ari delves deeper, his memory begins to creep up in even more enigmatic images.

Lemon Tree meets John Le Carre in a subtle thriller set in Germany involving Mona, a Lebanese woman (Golshifteh Farahani), and Naomi, an Israeli Mossad agent (Neta Riskin) sent to protect their informant while recovering from plastic surgery for her new identity.
After completing a mission, the Lebanese informant, Mona is taken away to a safe house in Hamburg, Germany, where she awaits further instructions. Here she meets Naomi, a Mossad agent assigned back from sick-leave for a babysitting job – to protect Mona. But the easy assignment quickly turns into a labyrinth of espionage and intrigue inside the safe house.

The Cakemaker
A young German pastry maker travels to Jerusalem in search for the wife and son of his dead lover.
Thomas, a young German baker is having an affair with married Oren, but learns the hard way that his lover passed away in an accident. He then sets off for Israel to search for his lover’s family. He finds himself working as an assistant in Oren’s widow’s café in Jerusalem in an attempt to seek answers and to find out more about the man he loved but knew nothing about. He forges relationships with his lover’s family without them realising anything about his past.
